  • Good polish 304 stainless steel

What would be a good Polish 48304 stainless steel muffler, mirror finish not necessary she's nice and shiny would be fine

Most polishing compounds used on Ramax (tool~steel) for rubber molds
should work well. The further you rub without adding more compound
the more refined the finish and the best possible shine!

      Polish

You may want to remove the scratches before polishing it. You can use the Dico buffing compound to polish the stainless steel surface.

To achieve a good polish on 304 stainless steel and achieve a nice shiny finish on your muffler, you can follow these steps:
        1. Clean the Surface: Before polishing, make sure the muffler is clean and free from dirt, grease, and any other contaminants. You can use a mild detergent and warm water to clean it thoroughly. Rinse and dry it completely.
        2. Choose the Right Polish: Select a stainless steel polish or metal polish specifically designed for stainless steel surfaces. There are various brands available in the market; just ensure it's compatible with 304 stainless steel.
        3. Apply the Polish: Apply a small amount of the chosen polish to a soft, clean cloth or a polishing pad. You can also use a rotary polishing tool with a stainless steel polishing attachment for larger surfaces.
        4. Polishing Process: Rub the polish onto the stainless steel muffled in a circular motion. Apply gentle pressure, but avoid pressing too hard, as excessive pressure can create scratches.
        5. Keep It Consistent: Continue polishing until you achieve the desired level of shine. If the muffler has deeper scratches or blemishes, you may need to spend more time on those areas.
        6. Wipe Off Excess: After polishing, use a clean, dry cloth to wipe off any excess polish. This will reveal the shiny surface.
        7. Final Touch: For an extra shiny finish, you can use a separate clean, dry cloth to buff the muffler surface in a circular motion.
        8. Maintenance: To maintain the shine, consider applying a stainless steel protectant or sealant after polishing. This will help prevent corrosion and maintain the muffler's appearance.

Remember to follow safety precautions, such as wearing gloves and eye protection, when working with metal polish. Additionally, always read and follow the instructions provided by the specific polish product you choose.

So in your experience, what it the best one you've used for this application? Or did you just cut-and-paste mostly useless information to a 6-year old thread again for some weird purpose we haven't seen yet?
