I seem to be having trouble comming off of a tack or burnning into a tack. I am welding open root ss 4" pipe. If i turn up the amps i seem to burn threw. I fethered the tack and ther rest of the root is beautiful. Just a lillte low on the tie-in's. Any hint's out there i think i tried everything but open for all idea's

Stop and cut the tack out if it's giving you problems. Feather your stop and start.

Ya! i will try that but it just bugs me when i can't figure it out. I am one of those guy's that alway's needs to figure it out. But sometimes it is not worth the fustation

i just spend a little more time where the tacks are...

tig, in position, when i come up on a tack, i just sit on it for a little longer, and wiggle the torch.
