Monel ww 2 subs , and my hero, grace

I had the privilege ,of meeting Grace through My cousin . She is in Her 90s.
She did weld repairs on subs in the Boston Navy Ship Yard, WW 2. She showed Me Her weld cert, USO dance card ,and a beautiful braided bracelet . The Bracelet was made by a fellow worker that had a crush on Her ! i Can believe this, Grace is still a cutie! She clanked the bracelet on the counter,sounded soft! " Kevin ,You're a welder,what metal is this ,She said with a twinkle in Her Eye" Oh Boy, I'm sweating ,Grace is enjoying this! Well Kevin ,It's monel,made from the subs Silverware. Dropped on the deck,It doesn't resonate much for enemy sonar. Once again shown up by a Woman! Please keep Grace in Your prayers, We owe Her a lot! Tool

We owe so much to the women who took on heavy industrial jobs during the war. While my father was in Europe fighting the Gemans with the 3rd Armored Division, my mother was working in a Republic Aircraft plant in Texas as a rivet "bucker," assembling the cramped nose cones of B-24 Liberator bombers - planes that helped make my father's job a little easier. Her sister also worked there.

My mother's parents also did their part, working in a shipyard in San Francisco. Granddad repaired battle-damaged ships, while his wife worked in the toolroom, issuing tools to the workers.

We modern Americans owe so much to those women (and men) who sacrificed so much to win that war.
