To harden a blade is more than just quenching it in a liquid....

Why do you want to harden it? It's cutting grass and should remain sharp regardless and will sharpen more easily the way it is

Some sickles are not heated and quenched to harden. They are peened to reshape the edge, which work hardens the steel.
